I like the idea of a penalty beyond a number. For example, lets say the base limit is 3, every copy beyond 3 cost 1 more point for each beyond 3.
EG:
1 ninjas cost 5,
3 ninjas cost 15 (5+5+5),
4 ninjas cost 21 (5+5+5 + 5+1),
6 ninjas cost 36 (5+5+5 + 5+1 + 5+2 + 5+3).
It cost more command points because it is harder to command that many troops ;)
This is considerably more complex so it will never be used, I just like the idea.

True, a rebalance would achieve that. But the issue is: rebalances will happen every once in a while, while spam issues will cyclically present themselves as new units get published. I find the 3 airplanes max, 3 vehicles of the same kind max reasonable limits. A cap of 6 applied to infantry units may work, while preserving special platoons (like the Zombie one) or allowing "light" armies (like Mythos, or NDAK) to use a substantial large number of cheap units.

I have been thinking more and more about spam armies. What do you guys think would be a reasonable way to address that? Maybe capping copies of the same unit?
6 copies of the same infantry squad, top, for instance?
Short term I think a limit could work. In the official tournament document there are already limits on Vehicles and Aircraft, so why not on Infantry?

Long term, I'm a firm believer that the answer is adjustment of unit costs and/or stats. For example, the new Ninja unit for 5 AP is too cheap and should probably cost around 7 AP. The infamous African Lions for 5 AP should cost 6 AP and so on. Those are examples of units that people use a lot in Spam Armies. But have you ever seen an Army using 5-10 units of Laser Grenadiers? Or 5-10 units of Ranger Weapon Squads?

If units are costed correctly, the problem of Spam Armies will largely go away. For examlpe, the winning army during Nordic 2019 had 10 units of Ninjas (50 AP). If those units were instead 7 AP each, he would only be able to include 7 units (49 AP) if everything else was kept the same. Three units is a huge difference in this game.

In addition, each eliminated Ninja unit would be worth more for the opponent (7 Kill-points each instead of 5), which is important since many games are decided by counting Kill-points.

The problem is that some factions have a very limited number of choices, so it's hard to balance the spam issue. But I agree it's not very funny to see 10 times the same unit on the table. The limitations should be made by the player himself, but in a competitive tournament you can't really ask the players to limit themselves.

By the way, will we have faction statistics for the nordic and european tounaments?

I agree on the rules - no need to limit the manauverability of this plane.

Is one bomb enough? Some Corsairs had a lot of armamments. 2 bombs + 8 rockets.

I think the card makes good sense.  :)

That looks really nice!

Probably the only thing to change is the name. It should probably be called "Heavy Tank Destroyer Elefant" or "Schweres Jagdpanzer Elefant".

I will try out the card and see how it works in a couple of games.  :)
