I would love to hear about terrain building...Something easy to get people like me started.

I always recommend building things to fit the Grid. That way you can use it in both Grid and Free-form.

If you can find the Dust Warzone Tenement Kits you can build very nice and quick buildings.

For materials, if you build from scratch, I recommend Foam Board (5 mm thick) and also plasticard (of a few different thicknesses). The Foam Board can be used for most "man-made" constructions, and the plasticard is great for making details. You can find photos of a few buildings I made in the forum Gallery.

These days there are also many producers of nice MDF terrain. Most kits are easy to assemble and looks really good on the table.

I've been thinking of trying to put together an article about this for Dust Monthly Magazine, but I'm not sure if or when that will happen  ???

I think talking about that on the podcast and writing an article is a great idea.

People new to painting and terrain building can use all the encouragement they can get...I know that I would. I haven't painted or built anything but I keep thinking about it. I have bought tons of paint but haven't found the courage to get started  :-[

This is very simple to make.... just as a start.
It fits the grid, and it can be used gridless.

These buildings are also quick build.
To be used for with or without a grid.
I used 5mm Foamboard and acrylics paint mixt with gravel (army painter black battleground), nothing else.
