Hello guys! New day new question!

I was wondering how do you handle the number of passengers a vehicle/aircraft carries vs the number that can shoot on each side.ì
The rules on p.22 state that infantry 3 and 4 occupies 2 spaces per miniature.
It is also stated  that "the number of passenger that can fire weapons from each side of the vehicle is equal to half the number of spaces (#) in the vehicle", without any reference to armor class.

So, when a infantry 3 or 4 squad of 3 guys, occupying 2 spaces each is carried on a vehicle with a capacity of 6, how many can shoot on each side? 1,5 or 3?
Classic example would be steel guard squad on a SSU helicopter.

Armor Rating only has bearing on how much space a unit occupies in the vehicle. It has no bearing on how many men in the unit can fire from either side of the vehicle. Divide the number of passenger spaces the vehicle has by two, and that's how many infantry models can fire out of either side, regardless of the armor rating of that unit.

Visualise it this way...

A Steel Guard Anti-Infantry Squad mounts up in an Assaulter. The SG Squad lines up front-to-back in the passenger compartment, with their left leg in the left passenger slot, right leg in the right passenger slot. Each man is able to turn to face the right or left window beside him, thus able to fire out of either side of the aircraft without shooting one of his fellow squaddies - the whole squad can fire out one side of the aircraft at the same time.

Meanwhile, a Chinese Volunteer Assault Squad with NKVD Political Commissar mounts up in an adjacent Assaulter. Each man takes up a slot in the aircraft. When it comes time to fire, however, the three men sitting on the right side of the aircraft can only fire out the right windows, as attempting to shoot out the left windows would require shooting through their comrades first.

Thanks guys, very clear!
And funnily enough, I was thinking of this exactly in the way Carlson used. :)
